KATE_TURTON_simple_scimum

Hello and welcome to Simple Scimum! My name’s Kate and I’m a science communicator.

I created this blog to answer the questions my children ask about science, nature and the world around them. From what makes a rainbow? to are snails amazing? and how bright does the moon shine?, their curiosity has inspired me to write about science for a young audience.

My aim is to enthuse, enlighten and encourage young children to channel their curiosity because it is by asking questions that we can discover new things and understand how they work. Through Simple Scimum, I can share some of the great science questions I’ve been asked and my attempts to answer them.

I have three science A-levels, a degree in biochemistry, a PhD in protein crystallography and a postgraduate certificate in science communication.

Find me on Facebook @SScimum, follow me on Twitter @SScimum and use the buttons below to share my blog with any children and grown-ups you know who want to know more about science stuff!
